Assess
Google Cloud Marketplace section for A2A-compatible AI agents from enterprise partners like Accenture and Deloitte.
Why It Matters
Google Cloud is carving out a dedicated section of its Marketplace for A2A-compatible AI agents from partners. This turns the existing enterprise procurement channel — with its billing, compliance, and vendor management — into an agent distribution platform. For enterprises already on Google Cloud, this is the path of least resistance to sourcing third-party agents through a trusted channel.
Strengths
- Leverages Google Cloud's existing enterprise procurement and billing infrastructure
- A2A compatibility ensures agents follow an open interoperability standard
- Partners include major SIs (Accenture, Deloitte) — familiar to enterprise buyers
- Google Cloud's distribution reach gives listed agents immediate visibility
Limitations
- Very early — the agent catalog is sparse and still building out
- Google Cloud-only; no value if you're on AWS or Azure
- Partner-driven means agent quality varies and is not directly controlled by Google
- Unclear differentiation from Google Agentspace for discovery and management
Risks
- Having both Agentspace AND a Cloud Marketplace agent section creates confusion — even Google seems unsure which is the canonical discovery surface
- "Partners include Accenture and Deloitte" means enterprise SI pricing, not developer-friendly access
- A2A compatibility is a checkbox, not a guarantee — listed agents may technically support A2A while being practically unusable outside Google's stack
- Google Cloud Marketplace's existing reputation for bloated enterprise offerings doesn't inspire confidence for the agent section
